Help Ashley say goodbye to Lady Bird

Hi, my name is Corrie and I'm setting this up for my best friend Ashley and her best friend Lady Bird.

Birdie has been having a rough time lately. She started wheezing a week or two ago. At first, the vet thought maybe it was an upper respiratory infection. They did a round of antibiotics but she stopped eating and did not respond. Today, Ashley took her back to the vet and they did an xray that shows a big mass, possibly cancer. Her heart has been pushed against her trachea by the mass making it hard for her to breathe. There is also fluid in her chest cavity they can temporarily clear with medication to make her comfortable for a few more days before its time to say goodbye.

As you can imagine, the vet bills are adding up and Ashley is having to miss some days of work to be with Bird. We would like to raise enough funds to afford a home euthanasia at one her favorite places rather than veterinary office.

Birdie was 2 and Ash was 19 when Ashley adopted her in 2010 from the Humane Society in Hawaii & they've been inseparable ever since. As most of you who know Lady Bird know: she isn't just a pet; she's family.
