❤️ Please Help Me Be There for Lady Now

There are some things in life that are almost impossible to put into words. For me, Lady is one of those things.

I got Lady when she was almost one year old, and from the moment she became part of my life, I don't think I could have ever imagined just how important she would become to me.

She didn't just become my dog.

She became my safe place.

Lady has been beside me through some of the hardest chapters of my life. During the moments when my mental health was at its lowest, when life felt overwhelming and I didn't know how I was going to get through another day, she was there.

She never needed me to explain what was wrong.

She never judged me for the days when I wasn't okay.

She would simply stay close, giving me the kind of unconditional love that only a dog can give.

There have been so many moments where Lady has been the reason I smiled when I didn't feel like smiling. She has been there for the tears, the difficult days, the long nights, and all of the little moments in between. She has seen me at my absolute lowest and loved me exactly the same.

She has been my constant.

And now, for the first time, I'm the one who needs to be her constant.

Lady has developed a dental infection that is causing her pain and requires surgery. She is currently taking antibiotics and pain medication to help control the infection and keep her comfortable, but she still needs the dental surgery to properly address the problem.

When we received the estimate and saw that the cost would be almost $6,000, my heart sank.

I am a mother of four, and as much as I wish I could simply find that money and make this happen for her, the reality is that a bill this large isn't something our family budget can absorb. We already have the normal expenses that come with raising four children, and this unexpected cost has left me feeling scared and helpless.

But I can't just give up on her.

Not after everything she has given me.

Lady has been there for me when I needed someone most. She has helped me through battles she will never even understand that she helped me survive. She has loved me on days when I struggled to love myself.

So now I'm asking for help to give her the same unconditional love she has given me all these years.

I know times are hard for so many people, and I know asking for help isn't easy. But if you can spare $5, $10, $20 — anything at all — it could help bring Lady closer to getting the surgery she needs.

And if you're unable to donate, sharing her story could mean just as much.

I don't need Lady to be anything other than the goofy, loving girl she has always been. I just want her to be comfortable. I want her to be healthy. I want more time with her.

Because she isn't “just a dog” to me.

She's family. She's my companion. She's been my light through some of my darkest days. And she's been there for me when I needed her most.

Now my girl needs me.

And I'm hoping, with a little help from others, I can be there for her too. ❤️
