Update: I have passed my goal and have successfully prevented my license from being suspended and now have the ability to afford legal help for my case and much more. Thanks to everyone that contributed. Go fund me doesn’t offer much tech support and I’m not sure what to do from here. I am going to leave my campaign active until all my funds process. ❤️
Hello friends. I have started this go fund me to help raise money to prevent my drivers license from being suspended by DSS, and here’s why.... Like many people, this pandemic has thrown me into a complete downward spiral that has left me broke, physically ill and most of all clinically depressed for the first time in my life. The past 7 months have been literal hell for me and I have had a hard time finding the strength and motivation to do simple everyday things. I lost my job in March, days before the first quarantine order. For months I wasn’t able to get a job because of the shut down and quarantine order. I was denied unemployment after 5 months of waiting and the state even appointed me a pro Bono lawyer to help take my case to a judge to help overturn the decision. I was struck down again and am currently appealing again. The one thing that has been consistent in my life over this time is my daughter Layla. As most of you know, I have a strong, awesome relationship with my daughter. Through all of my hardship I have always consistently been a pretty badass father and have my kid pretty much every day as youve come to see on my social media posts. Layla has even started virtual school and I stay home with her everyday to help her and make sure she succeeds in school. All this being said, during the stay at home order, I was jobless and my child support accrued and accrued. I am now 4000 dollars behind in child support and it continues to build week to week. DSS has informed me that they will be revoking my drivers license on November 27th if I don’t pay a minimum of 1000 dollars immediately. I have explained that this will only make matters worse keeping me from picking up and dropping off my daughter and will prevent me from being able to do my job. They could care less. If you know my situation and you know my family you know we don’t have money. I have done everything I can to try and keep them from suspending my license. I’ve even asked Layla’s mother to temporarily suspend the child support order so I can get it under control but that didn’t work either. I am a desperate man and am abandoning all of the little dignity I have left to beg for your help. I am at whits end and have no energy left to fight this. I keep my life pretty private and I’m sure that most people will be shocked to hear this but I’m running out of options. My back is against the wall and I’m at rock bottom mentally. Please consider contributing something to help my cause. It will do more good than you can imagine. I am asking 1,100on go fund me because they take 3 percent of the total donations plus 30 cent per donation. If I hit my goal of 1500 it will put me right around 1000 net dollars to use to keep my license intact. Thank you for your time and consideration. Also, just so everyone knows, I have sought legal help and am currently asking DSS to review our child support agreement and consider changing it due to substantial change of circumstances. That will not keep my license from being suspended next week though.
