My name is LaCressa, and I am starting this fundraiser for myself and my daughter after we lost our trailer in the San Juan River flooding. Just a few days before the flooding, I lost my job because of recent health issues, and then this disaster happened on top of everything else. In a matter of moments, we lost our home, our belongings, and so much of the life we had built there. We had to leave with only a basket of clothes, and heartbreakingly, we also lost my daughter’s cat. We were later told by officials that we were not allowed back on our property because of E. coli contamination. Since then, we have been trying to process the shock of losing everything while also facing the ongoing challenge of finding stable housing and meeting our basic needs without my income.

I am asking for help so I can replace our housing with a trailer or a tiny house and give my daughter a safe place to live again. She is a freshman, a straight-A student, and someone who gives so much of herself to others through volunteering with programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters. She has always been active in helping people, and now I am doing everything I can to help her get her safe space back.
