Help Lachlan Get Back on His Feet After Heartbreaking Tool T
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Aaron and I’m reaching out on behalf of my son, Lachlan — a hardworking 2nd year apprentice carpenter.
Earlier this year, Lachlan turned 18. It was meant to be the start of something special. Despite losing his mum when he was 9 years old — a loss that no young man should ever have to endure — Lachlan poured his energy into building a future. With some of the small inheritance she left him, along with savings from the past year and birthday gifts, he proudly bought the essential tools he needed to continue his apprenticeship. These tools were more than equipment — they were his ticket to a career, independence, and a new chapter in life.
Tragically, just two weeks after buying those tools, someone broke into my car (which Lachlan is currently using while waiting for an insurance claim on his own vehicle) and stole everything.
This is a cruel blow, especially after the tough few months he’s had. In March, Lachlan also lost the first car he ever bought — a vehicle he had spent weeks upgrading for off-roading. He had purchased it using a modest inheritance from my sister, who sadly also passed away from cancer. That car held deep emotional value, both for the effort he put into it and the connection to his late aunty. Tragically, it was written off through no fault of his own when another driver smashed into him. Losing the car was already a heartbreaking setback, but now to also lose all of his tools — which he had worked so hard to purchase with such pride and purpose — is just devastating.
Without those tools, Lachlan can’t work, can’t learn, and can’t move forward in his trade. We’re doing all we can, but replacing everything quickly is just not something we can manage on our own.
If you can help in any way — even just by sharing this story — we’d be incredibly grateful. Please help show Lachlan that in the face of theft and loss, there are still good people out there willing to lend a hand.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
