Help Lacey's Family Rebuild After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
Hello family, friends, and Tehachapi community,
My sister-in-law (Lacey Heckathorn Burkett) and her family had a devastating fire in their home in the early morning hours of Monday, December 9, 2024. They were awoken by a loud bang, and when they got up to see what it was, they could smell and see a haze of smoke that had already filled the home. As they approached the garage interior door, they discovered that it was already completely engulfed in flames. By the grace of whatever powers may be, they were all able to get out safely, including all of their animals.
Due to the significance of smoke and water damage to the home, it has been deemed uninhabitable and unsafe to reside in. They've lost everything in this fire, including all 3 of their vehicles. They won't be able to return to their home for an estimated 6 months!
Lacey was born and raised in Tehachapi and her family has always been involved with the community. They've volunteered for Tehachapi Little League, youth TVRPD basketball (where Lacey is a current coach this year and still continuing to fulfill that obligation even though her family has endured a lot in the last week), and more.
It's never a good time to have your house catch on fire, but especially hard when it's right before Christmas. Please help this local family if you can! If you cannot donate, please share this GoFundMe. Every bit of exposure helps!
