Help Lacey (Tutu) recover from back surgery
Donation protected
To know her is to smile with her. Can you send a smile back by helping in Lacey's time of need?
Lacey (Tutu) Brunmeier is scheduled to have back surgery on Oct. 13, 2021. The procedure is a left side L5 / S1 laminotomy, foraminotomy, and microdiscectomy, also known as a spinal decompression, in which a portion of bone and disc are removed to relieve pressure on the nerves. This should greatly ease the constant pain she's been walking around with.
Lacey earns money to support herself and her disabled mom by gig work, driving people and / or restaurant orders around town. This has given her the flexibility to rush home to care for her mother as needed, but has no insurance, sick leave, etc. She will be unable to work for some weeks, at least at the level required to pay the $2500 monthly in rent and expenses for their household. She'll be restricted to lifting only 10 pounds for the first month post-surgery and 20 pounds the second month. Sitting in the car and bouncing around the city streets will be painful and will slow her recovery.
Can you pitch in to raise funds to cover her expenses for October and November? Every little bit helps for your old friend, co-worker, tribe member, fellow pirate, zombie, etc. etc. Let's take some of the burden off Lacey and ease her anxiety going into this surgery.
