Help Lacey Brown Rock On: Go Fund KNEE
Donation protected
Dear friends and family, I’m starting this “Go Fund Knee” as I’m undergoing a regenerative medical procedure on my knees that is not covered under insurance and I am hoping to raise funds to help make this happen!
As you know, I work as a full-time musician and I am absolutely in love with my career. As a drummer, I get to teach amazing kiddos how to rock and foster a love for music, and I also get to perform, record, tour, and make music with the best folks. As an engineer/producer, I record bands and artists and have the honor of helping bring their music to life. And as a church musician/worship leader, I am so privileged to work with wonderful musicians and create sacred space week in and week out.
Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the spring of 2024 and have been exploring options to help with my condition so I can get back to being as active as my profession requires me to be. Because I am too young for the particular state that my knees are in (moderate-severe), my doctors want me to delay total knee replacement surgery as long as possible, as the lifespan of joint replacement varies from 10-20 years. This means I’m looking at several major surgeries on each knee in the future. This reality is devastating to me, especially as a drummer.
So for now, I am exploring every avenue I can to keep my knees from worsening and have also decided to undergo stem cell therapy, which will use my own cells to hopefully regrow and repair damaged tissue. I am scheduled for this procedure on June 10th with Dr. Mark Wagner, who has more experience with stem cell procedures than any other doctor in the Pacific Northwest and has an 85-90% success rate, defined by decreased pain and improved function. Because this procedure is not covered by insurance, I’m reaching out to you, my family and friends, for support. The total for the procedure comes to $11,125.
I am hopeful this plan will provide relief for the pain I have been experiencing and decrease the number of major surgeries in my future by delaying joint replacement. Thank you for considering donating to my “Go Fund Knee.”
With so much love and gratitude,
Lacey Brown
