I have children with a very rare mitochondrial disease. After being told that my daughter had 6 months to live, back in 2008, I've been on a quest to find a viable treatment or cure. The research has lead to their survival all this time.

 

La la's condition has progressed into end stage kidney failure. Stem Cell Therapy is being researched and trialed for this condition. We just don't have time to wait as he is not a candidate for kidney transplant and dialysis is not a long term choice for someone with his delicate medical condition. Diamond is more stable but if this works she can make great progress at turning things around.

The children have a very rare form of mitochondrial disease, G8363A. The mitochondria, the power house of cells, can't produce enough energy to feed the cells. This prevents the cell/tissues/ organs to properly conduct the many jobs they have including toxin clearance.
The gene G8363A location is damaged or mutated. 

Stem Cell Therapy has the potential to improve Diamond and La La's health. Stem cells are known to go wherever there is damage and start to make repairs. It includes Exosomes to give better odds at success. This therapy can be lifesaving for them, especially La La who has end stage kidney failure.
