Hi everyone. My name is James Cisneros. My wife Nancy and I own La Hermosa taco truck in Claremore, OK.
There is a bill that’s taking effect on Nov. 1st. The bill HB 2459 and HB 3995 requires that every food truck in the state of OK that produces smoke and grease-laden vapors install a fire suppression system and use LP pipeline. Both of these require different techs. For the fire suppression system, the cost will be $4,266. For the LP gas pipeline schedule 80, the cost is $2,350.
With sales dropping for the last 3 months, 40%, on top of all this, we just found out a week ago that inspections were being done in Tulsa on September 22 and 23rd. We were never notified. A fellow food truck owner told me about this in Claremore’s Sept food truck Thursday. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t know about this. I went online and saw that we have to drive to McAlester to get this inspection done on our truck! If I want “them,” the LP Gas authority and the state fire marshal, to come and inspect our truck, we have to pay them $600.
It’s a rough patch we’re in. I never thought of doing this and I hate to say it...But times are hard! Come Nov. 1st, we could only open for business if we have these installations done. And this is why I started this GoFundMe. Keep us in your prayers and thank you very much for everything!!
