Help La Colombe TriBeCa Baristas!

TriBeCa is a small community, and La Colombe has proudly been your local corner coffee shop for over a decade. As your local baristas, we’ve had the great pleasure of serving you and forming relationships with you all. As we’re all aware, the NYC service industry has been hit hard by the corona virus pandemic. It is an uncertain time for everyone, and as we navigate this unfamiliar time ahead we are reaching out to our community to ask for a bit of help. Over the past week, every single La Colombe barista has seen their income dry up. Many of our additional jobs outside of the café (as stylists, performers, and photographers) have also ended for an indefinite amount of time. We hope that these opportunities will be able to return once this is all over, but for now there is no guarantee, and no pay. La Colombe has officially closed all cafe locations. On average, tips from customers make up about 40% of our monthly income. We are reaching out to you to try and retain some of our tip-based income as we attempt to stay afloat during these tough times. If you are able to donate, please know that we are so grateful, and we are looking forward to saying “thank you” in person once we are able to open our doors again. All received donations will be split equally among our team of nine. We are asking for $5000, which equals to about $500 per person after GoFundMe fees. $500 is on average what one hourly barista makes in tips during one two-week period.
