Donations are needed for our expansion plan. We can’t let this amazing space go. It’s going to help save so many more lives! We have the purchase agreement signed so now the clock is ticking for us to raise the funds needed.
LA Animal Rescue was established 16 years ago with the intention of utilizing our experience volunteering with other rescues and learning what and how we wanted to do things to save more lives and make a bigger impact for the animals and the people that love them. Since then, we have rescued and helped over 10,000 domestic and farm animals throughout the years, and we only want to do more. This new endeavor is a big plan, and we are ready for it. More space means more animals saved. We are committed to continue our mission of giving a safe haven for the unwanted, abandoned, and abused. This secluded space is so peaceful and perfect for the animals to relax and thrive. It will also allow us to have the right setup for individual introductions in between adoption events or for the animals that are not comfortable with public settings.
Now the clock is ticking, and we need to raise the money by December 31st. Meanwhile, we have been working nonstop since we signed the lease. We’re clearing decades of trash and junk, doing fire clearance for the safety of the horses that already live there, and preserving the trees, as well as making it safe for us to walk around as we prep the space. Next will be repairing the fencing and horse stalls.
Along with the property are Casey a 19 years old gelding and Annie a 31 years old blind mare. Casey and Annie have lived here many years and the property owner was determined to find a buyer that would adopt the horses so their lives would not be disrupted. With Annie being blind, change would be extra stressful for her and at her age, that could be dangerous. Our rescue has taken on the 2 horses and the 3 feral (barn) cats that live there.
But please know, no amount is too small. You can also donate through our website.
The immediate goal is to raise $335k.
28 acres, $300k for the land, $35k for some necessary repairs and improvements — a new water tank, septic, a bathroom (yup, there is no bathroom at the moment, but we live 2.5 minutes away), and roughly 20 tons of trash removal.
Thank you for your support. Please go to our social media to see some examples of the important work we do.
LA Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue.
Established in late 2010, LAAR has helped save thousands of lives.
We currently care for over 250 domestic and farm animals between our rescue ranch and foster network. Each year hundreds of homeless and abandoned animals receive health care and are re-homed through LAAR. We are a small grassroots no-kill animal rescue that runs solely on donations and volunteers. We are committed to the animals in our care and they are safe with us until the perfect home comes along. Your donation is tax deductible and goes directly to the animals.
