Hello lovely humans, I am here to ask and spread support for help with the ongoing process of Kyrstionna.
She has a long journey ahead of her over the next couple of months. As of right now, Kyrstionna has broken her left femur. She now has rods and pins to replace her femur. Her lower left leg has been cleaned and some muscle removed as it was too damaged to save. They were able to stabilize her skin together from her knee down to her ankle. Only time will tell if the skin is healthy enough to heal or if they will need to do skin grafting to allow her leg to fully heal. Kyrstionna is blessed to be here. As awful as this accident is and how awful this call was early in the morning, she was being protected and given another chance. Today she had her left lower leg reopened. They will be doing more cleaning of the leg, pulling the temporary plate out, and replacing it with a permanent rod. The doctors will evaluate any muscle that needs to be removed due to damage and evaluate skin damage to determine if she will need skin grafting on her leg.
At this time, we do not know if she is clear from amputation, though she is a strong person and determined. As long as she keeps pushing through, she will come out stronger.
We do not know how mobile or the amount of mobility she will have with her left leg at this time. I continue to ask for prayers and support for the family. As we continue through the motions of healing through this difficult period, I am asking for as much support and help anybody is willing to give. Mom, Amanda, is taking over responsibility for Kyrstionna's bills and managing her finances during this time. Kyrstionna was taking care of her grandmother on hospice. Now, due to her inability to move, she is unable to take care of herself or her son Kortez. We are nowhere near done, and this process is going to be very expensive and can be quite a stressful burden to think on, so during this time, focusing on healing and getting through the day is the main priority. Kyrstionna is eager to get home to her friends and family, and her loving boy Kortez.
I want to thank everyone for the support and prayers sent over the family. They are working hard and pushing us through. The support and love shown to Kyrstionna is amazing. Knowing she is loved and supported by many near and far means the world! We are beyond grateful and thankful to have this second chance at life <3
