On September 6th, 2025, 17-year-old high school senior Kyrsten Ryan's life changed forever. Kyrsten went to a party to give her friend a safe ride home, but while she was there, she was standing in the wrong place as a fight broke out. She was shot once, and the bullet hit her in her low neck/high chest at an angle after going through a wall. From there, the bullet missed her carotid artery, hit her top rib, ricocheted up, and went through her shoulder and out through her back. The bullet luckily missed all of her major organs and arteries but did not come without injuries. The bullet punctured the top of her left lung and caused it to collapse, as well as fracturing her rib and left shoulder. Luckily, three heroic guys stayed with her until an ambulance arrived and kept her alert and awake while applying pressure to both the entrance and exit wounds.

Where is she now:

She is currently stable in the ICU. She has two chest tubes in to help drain the liquid that is filling her lung cavity. The gunshot wounds are starting to close on their own, but the amount of pain she is in is unimaginable. She is trying to be in the best spirits she can be. She is incredibly strong and giving this her best fight that she has. She is going to have to stay in the ICU for at least a week to try to get everything to start healing: her shoulder, lung, and rib. This is going to be a long, hard, and expensive battle for Kyrsten. Kyrsten is a 17-year-old high school senior who loves the outdoors, her family, and playing sports. Kyrsten is also a CNA, working to graduate high school early to start nursing school as soon as she can.
