I honestly have no idea where to even start, but I have to start this somewhere. I’d like to start off by saying that I have never been the type to beg or ask for money, & to seem like a financial burden. Although, we all come across really, REALLY, tough times, like my family is currently experiencing. It has been a very difficult week for my family. I’ll start it off by introducing myself. My name is Kyra Cunningham, the creator of this GoFundMe, I’m a young mom of 2 that has just been trying to get my life together for me, me kids, & my family. It seems I’ve been unable to achieve that due to so, SO MANY set backs. Me & my boyfriend currently live with my grandmother. We have a big family, & there are a lot in our home. It’s me, my 2 kids, my boyfriend, my grandma, my grandpa, my 2 brothers, & my uncle (currently). Me & my boyfriend are currently on waiting lists for apartments, it’s only a matter of time until something becomes available & we are able to move on our own (if we can even afford to). Within the past week, the following has happened: Our Hyundai Sonata went into a ditch due to a deer hopping out infront of us while the roads were icy causing us to slide, so that is currently sitting at a tow yard racking up expenses because nobody in our household has the money to go get it out, mind you it’s $30 per day that it sits there. Our washer quit working, our hot water quit working, & our heat. It has gotten as cold as 48 degrees inside of our house this winter especially with it getting down to -10 degrees outside during the night. Our children are 1 & 2 years old, so we’ve had to bundle them up & they can’t even be warm or comfortable in their own home. If you thought that was bad, our electricity sucked, I guess you could say. We couldn’t run any heaters because it would cause certain appliances to shut off & lights to flicker. We genuinely had to sit there & deal with it. I’m perfectly fine with freezing, but my toddlers were the issue. Then a couple nights ago our secondary car & ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION became non drivable due to a power steering leak (we are currently working on getting that taken care of so we can atleast have some form of transportation.) & if you thought that was bad enough, I’ve got something else for you. Our fuse box in our house completely caught fire on January 29th. This all happened in the SAME WEEK. Everybody in our home had to leave. We are currently staying with a family member but it cannot be permanent. We have no clue how much it’s going to cost us out of our pockets to get the electricity redone. As of now there is no electric in our house so we cannot stay there. No source of heat, nothing. It has quite literally just been one thing after another. My boyfriend is the only one in the home currently working. My grandma got laid off from her job in February last year. We’ve been struggling just to make ends meet & get the house payment & other bills paid. It has been a struggle. All of this on top of me & my boyfriend trying to get out on our own with our kids. We were trying to save up for our own car & a deposit on an apartment, but now we are just totally screwed & set all the way back. We have nothing. Our pockets are completely dry. With all of these sudden expenses popping up I have absolutely no idea what to do, that’s why I decided to set this up. Our lives have been hectic & overwhelming, very stressful within the last week to say the least, but I trust in God & his timing. I will make sure we keep our heads high & just pray our way out of it. In the meantime, if you aren’t in the best financial situation to donate, or even if you just don’t feel like it, I just ask that you share this for us & send us your prayers. We are in need of all the help we can get. I hope this was detailed enough to let everybody know what’s been going on in our lives & it reaches the right audience. I know we all have a sob story, but I’m not sure how much more I can take. We are barely getting by while also trying to get out on our own, there is just so many things that have suddenly popped up that we quite literally CANNOT afford. We just can’t.
