Hello! My name is Isaia aka Issa -- proud puppy parent of Kymber and Zayn.
On February 17th, 2025, Kymber, my fragile, loving, adorable 10-year-old terrier-chihuahua mix, was aggressively picked up by a "friend," resulting in a severe injury that left her back legs paralyzed. Kymber is elderly and a tiny, fragile girl, which is why it is a well-known house rule that NO ONE is to pick her up, except me. The "friend" who caused the injury was well aware of this rule, but due to negligence and belligerence, decided to ignore it -- leading my poor, innocent baby to be diagnosed by a neurologist with Intervertebral Disc Disease (a spinal cord disorder that causes paralysis).
(The moment kymber became paralyzed )
(The aftermath )
Two days and $2300+ later, I've been advised by the veterinary neurologist that
Kymber has just a 50% chance of ever regaining mobility of her hind legs without surgery
. However, with surgery, Kymber's chance of walking again is 90-95%. Unfortunately, the estimated cost of surgery is $12,000 - $14,000.
If Kymber does not receive surgery in the near future, her quality of life will be severely diminished. It's so bad that she is unable to even urinate on her own. Life without surgery includes: long-term bed rest, continued medication for inflammation/pain management, physical rehabilitation, and continued paralysis of her hind legs.
Due to a limitation in funds, I am unable to pay for the surgery at this time. After exhausting my resources, I've created this GoFundMe page to help cover expenses related to Kymber's needed surgery. Any and every contribution is extremely appreciated.
ABOUT KYMBER:
Born in March of 2016 at a local city animal shelter in Southern Los Angeles, California, Kymber was adopted by my sister, Avary, and me in May of 2016. This adorably loving girl is friendly, full of energy, and has a sassy streak that makes me believe she may have been an actual princess in a past life. This spunky little lady enjoys days at the beach, lounging around watching The Real Housewives, playing with her best friend/brother Zayn, cuddling on the couch, eating tomatoes, and slow walks where she takes the time to smell (every) flower, and running around the yard with her brother. Kymber has a zest for life, a love for humans, and a lot of life left in her. Please help me ensure that she is able to live her best life possible in her final years. This beautiful soul shouldn't have to physically pay for the mistake of one incompetent individual.
