Hello, my name is Yliana, and I created this GoFundMe to help my mom cover the financial costs of our beloved dog Kylo’s emergency surgery due to IVDD.

Kylo is a fun, loving, and energetic dog who has been part of our family since 2022. He was given to us by my mom’s best friend, who wanted to keep the puppies within their close circle. From the moment Kylo came into our lives, he became our ray of sunshine. We truly can’t imagine life without him.

On January 31, everything changed suddenly. Kylo lost movement in his hind legs, and we rushed him to the vet right away. We were advised to take him to the emergency room, where we were devastated to learn that he was suspected to have IVDD and would likely need an expensive surgery. We were given an impossible choice: move forward with surgery to prevent paralysis, or bring him home and risk him never walking again.

Kylo is my mom’s baby — and our family’s baby — so the decision was made with nothing but love. My mom chose to go ahead with the surgery and worry about the cost later, because saving Kylo was the only option in her heart.

Kylo was released on Sunday, February 1, and thankfully, he is doing well after surgery. However, his journey is far from over. He still has a long road to recovery ahead, including in-home physical therapy and possibly additional in-clinic treatments.
