Help Kylie and Andrew Rebuild After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
On September 27th 2024, Kylie and Andrew were sitting in their living room in East Asheville when their lives were turned upside-down by Hurricane Helene. Their home collapsed in a mudslide and in an instant they lost everything but the clothes they were wearing. After narrowly escaping onto the roof, they endured an unimaginable day wading through mud, trying to help injured neighbors, and worrying they might die at any moment as the mountain came down around them. They were eventually rescued by helicopter and managed to walk away with only scrapes and bruises, but their house, cars, and all their possessions were lost in the mudslide along with their pet cat and two ferrets. They now face the challenge of rebuilding a life from square one.
Kylie and Andrew have a place to stay temporarily, but they will soon be looking for a new place to live, and with that comes the task of replacing everything they owned. The cost adds up quickly, and any amount of help is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your continued support for the victims of Hurricane Helene.
Below are photos of what used to be their house, and one of the cars.
