Hello everyone,

My name is Kyle. I am 37 years old and originally from Walker, Louisiana. I am a son, a brother, a father, and a significant other. I have two children, whom I love dearly and who mean the world to me. Unfortunately, I find myself here reaching out with a heavy heart, but also unwavering hope and determination. I was recently diagnosed with Stage III Colorectal Cancer and will be starting treatment immediately. This could not have come at a worse time considering my family and I have already been fighting a separate battle. My significant other, Anna, was diagnosed with a rare form of aplastic anemia and has been going through an intense treatment regimen now for several months and will soon be traveling to M.D. Anderson where she will be for the next three to four months undergoing a bone marrow transplant.

As it were, we were already struggling to meet the financial burden of medical bills and the loss of Anna’s income, but with this new development, our family has now been placed into an extremely vulnerable position, where we are now fighting just to survive. Before my diagnosis, and after Anna’s, I became the sole provider for our family and carried the burden and stress of knowing that I had so many people depending on me, but now that we have learned that I will no longer be able to work as I go through my treatment, a stark realization has occurred. And it’s that we cannot do this alone.

This is why I am desperately reaching out to the world so that my family and I can find the support and strength we need to put our efforts where they are needed most and to fight. The road ahead is long and arduous, filled with countless medical appointments, treatments, and emotional ups and downs. As much as we wish we could bear the burden alone, we recognize that we cannot do it without the support of our community, friends, and kind-hearted strangers like you.
