Help Kyle’s Family While He Battles Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Donation protected
My youngest brother, Kyle Haase, who is only 38 years old, has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to his liver. Kyle went into the emergency room on Sunday April 6th with severe abdominal pain that was very promptly diagnosed as cancer. After transferring hospitals and meeting with the oncology team, we also learned that he has a rare genetic disorder (familial adenomatous polyposis) that caused his body to develop thousands of precancerous polyps in his colon - those polyps are now cancerous and have metastasized to his liver. Since learning this, he has had surgery to re-route his colon to use a colostomy bag and have the port installed that the doctors will use to administer the chemotherapy treatment.
This was completely unexpected and will have a huge impact on his family in ways we cannot even begin to comprehend yet. Kyle and his soon to be wife, Heidi, have 9 children between the two of them and he is the primary breadwinner for their family as a semi-truck driver. Kyle will be undergoing aggressive treatment to fight the cancer and we are hoping and praying that his body responds well to the chemotherapy. Due to the diagnosis and the severity, we do not yet know how much he will be able to work between treatments and the potential crippling impact of chemotherapy on the body. We are asking for any support you are able to give to help keep Kyle's family taken care of while they are navigating this devastating diagnosis and he goes through the treatment the doctors recommend. Any additional funds raised will be used to begin covering the medical expenses that will be accumulating during this journey.
Thank you for supporting Kyle and his family during this extremely traumatic time. We appreciate you.

UPDATE: Kyle is ready to start his journey as soon as the doctors feel he has healed enough from the colostomy bag placement and the chemo port.
The road ahead won’t be easy I’m sure, but he has a brave face and lots to fight for! Thank you for the continued support! Kara
