Hello, my name is Lindsey and I am reaching out for prayers and help for my bestie Suzy and my nephew Kyler. On December 19th, their lives were suddenly and painfully changed.
Kyler, was in Costa Rica on vacation with friends when, on the way to the airport to return home, the car they were traveling in was struck by a bus. The accident left Kyler with multiple facial fractures and a serious shoulder injury, requiring immediate hospitalization.
Since the accident, Kyler has remained hospitalized in Costa Rica. While doctors have confirmed that he needs surgery to repair his facial fractures, there has been no clear timeline provided for when that surgery will take place. To make matters more complicated and frightening, he is not medically cleared to fly back to the United States until the surgery is completed.
As soon as Suzy learned what had happened, she flew to Costa Rica to be by her son's side during this incredibly traumatic time. Navigating a foreign medical system, language barriers, and ongoing uncertainty—while watching your child suffer—has been overwhelming, especially throughout the holiday season and his birthday.
Unfortunately, the expenses are rapidly adding up. Medical bills, hospital stays, imaging, consultations, medications, extended lodging, food, transportation, and unexpected travel costs have created a financial burden far beyond what they were prepared for. With no confirmed surgery date, they are unable to plan when Kyler can come home or how much longer these costs will continue.
We are asking for help to ease the financial strain so they can focus on what matters most: Kyler’s recovery, safety, and healing. Any contribution—no matter the size—will go directly toward his medical care, necessary living expenses while they remain there, and ultimately helping to get him home safely once he is cleared to travel.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page. Your prayers, support, and kindness mean more to us than we can express.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us during one of the hardest moments of their lives.
