Help Kylee Recover
Donation protected
On September 17th, our niece, Kylee Buffington, 15 years old, was in a horrible car accident on her way home from school. Her and 2 other girls were going to a one of their houses to get ready for the Friday night football game when their vehicle lost control and rolled numerous times ejecting all 3 girls from the vehicle.
Kylee was thrown approximately 100 feet. Kylee was airlifted to a University of Iowa Hospital where doctors immediately started to work on her.
Kylee is currently stable but has major breaks and injuries throughout her body. She has 6 breaks in her back and neck, as well as in her pelvis, and clavicle. Her lung is punctured and her liver is also punctured. She also has a concussion, bruises and cuts all over her body and some of her teeth are broken.
She has an amazing team working with her, including a a spinal team, orthopedic, dental, internal medicine, occupational therapy among others. As of what we know now, extensive medical care and physical therapy will be needed to help Kylee fully recover. This will require Jessica and Richards full attention.
Thankfully Kylee is with us today, but has a long road to recovery ahead of her. Her parents, Jessica and Richard Buffington, are both teachers and will be unable to work their full time hours as they care for Kylee the next few months.
We are trying to raise money for them to travel back and forth to the hospital, medical expenses, house hold bills, food, and after care needs for Kylee as they arise.
Please consider donating, no amount is too small.
We want to thank all who have helped and prayed so far. We appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers. You mean the world to us and have made this awful time so much easier. THANK YOU!
