Help Kyle Walk Again After Tragic Accident
Donation protected
My name is Kayla Collins, I am trying to raise funds for my husband Kyle, who was severely injured in a head-on truck/motorcycle accident.
On the night of Wed, Oct 23rd, while traveling home down M21 in Owosso, MI Kyle was hit on a motorcycle by the driver of a truck who did not look twice and pulled out in front of him.
Luckily, Kyle was wearing a helmet, had no head injuries, and is alive today!
However, he did suffer multiple severe injuries, including a compound fracture to the femur, 2 broken toes, and broken thumb, a gruesome tear of his ankle, severing tendons and ligaments, as well as damage and bruising to his liver, spleen, bowel, and gall bladder..
The following day, he underwent an extensive 7 hr surgery to remove the gall bladder, set the broken bones, and close the open wounds.
A 2nd surgery was done 2 days later, reopening the ankle to clean and flush the wound to avoid infection. They decided at that point that due to the extent and severity of the wound in the ankle and foot, there may be a possibility of amputation.
On Oct 28th, that surgery was done to amputate the ankle and foot below the knee.
So far, he has received 3 blood transfusions, 3 extensive surgeries, daily antibiotics, non-stop pain medication, was unable to eat for 5 days, suffered excruciating amounts of pain, and the loss of a limb.
He soon will begin rehab and physical therapy to regain strength and mobility but faces a long, hard road to recovery, learning how to walk with a prosthetic and adapting to a new way of life.
I am asking that you please help him any way you can as he makes his way towards recovery and getting back to living his life..
Thank you ❤️
