My name is Kyle Mercure, and I’m starting this fundraiser for myself and my girlfriend after a fire yesterday destroyed both of our cabins and everything we own. In a single day, we lost our homes, our belongings, and the basic things we depended on every day. We are still in shock and trying to understand what to do next. My parents’ guest cabin, which we had just finished building, also burned to the ground after they only got to spend one night in it. I’m not someone who usually asks for help, but right now we are facing an overwhelming situation with winter only a month away.

The support from this fundraiser will help us with the most urgent needs as we try to recover and find some stability. We need warm winter clothes, safe housing, and help replacing the tools and essential items that were lost in the fire. There isn’t enough time before winter to build another cabin, and I can’t afford to do that on my own.
