My husband, Kyle McIver, will be riding his bicycle from Abilene, TX to Fort Worth, TX (204 miles!) in honor of our daughter, Vera, who passed away in 2019 due to complications related to FGR/IUGR.
Fetal growth restriction (FGR), formerly called intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), refers to a condition in which an unborn baby is smaller than it should be because it is not growing at a normal rate inside the womb.
For Vera, this condition was fatal by 29 weeks and 1 day gestation (204 days exactly). He is riding one mile for every single day she was here with us.

All funds raised on this platform for this purpose will be given directly to Cook Children's Maternal Fetal Medicine in Abilene, TX, where Dr. Holly Dunn and her team will continue researching FGR/IUGR and, with hard work and hope, help change this type of outcome for future families.
