Help Kyle Benton with his long road to recovery
Donation protected
Kyle Benton just celebrated his 18th birthday and never imagined that days later he would be in critical condition fighting for his life. For those of you that know Kyle, you know that he is a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and young man. He has always been there for his friends and family. Now Kyle needs all the help and prayers you can give!
On August 31st, Kyle suffered a traumatic brain injury and broken back in a long boarding accident. Luckily, Kyle was with a friend that immediately called 911. The paramedics arrived and immediately took Kyle to the hospital to be treated for a major head injury. Kyle’s mother had just landed hours earlier in Orlando, FL to visit some of her young grandkids. Minutes after saying hello and tucking her grandkids into bed, she received a phone call from the paramedic about Kyle’s accident. Having just had this moment of joy flipped into a nightmare, she could not get home soon enough and was on the next flight back home. Kyle’s dad rushed to the hospital where he was forced to stay outside because of Covid-19. Updates were slow and vague at first.
In the early hours of the morning, we learned that Kyle had a subdural hematoma and that the pressure was quickly building in his brain. From the moment the paramedics arrived, doctors have been working endlessly to stabilize Kyle. He also has a blood clot that has formed in his brain, a broken back, and has contracted pneumonia. As Kyle continues to fight for his life, it will be weeks and months before we know the full extent of his injuries. It is still unsure what this long road to recovery will look like.
Please check back often for updates. On behalf of his family and loved ones, thank you for all your love and support. We know that our Heavenly Father is aware of Kyle and we’re hoping for a miracle!
