Happy New Year to everyone and I hope all is well. Today, my brother Kylan turns 21 years old.  Before his birthday, Kylan was recently diagnosed with metastatic thyroid cancer that has spread from his thyroid to his lymph nodes. On December 17th, Kylan received surgery that removed his entire thyroid gland, 2 masses, and 42 lymph nodes. Throughout this recovery, he has remained positive and has been very brave over the past few weeks. He still has a long road ahead of him as he will be undergoing radiation treatment and will possibly undergo future surgeries.

Kylan's whole life has been put on hold as no 21-year-old should have to drown in student loans and medical debt all while struggling to pay for basic necessities at the same time. Kylan is a current student at Fresno State University and was able to finish out his semester with a 4.0 before his surgery. In addition, he was working 2 jobs but had to take time off which has now affected his income for rent and food every month. Kylan was working at a physical therapy facility where he aspires to one day become a Physical Therapist and improve the lives of other patients who have gone through their own hardships. 

I am asking for friends, family, and the community to help Kylan out with the vast amount of medical debt he has accumulated in such a short amount of time. Unfortunately, his insurance covers very little of the multiple medical procedures involved and my parents are doing all that they can to help him out financially.

Please help me celebrate Kylan's birthday by helping him alleviate the burden of his medical debt. No gift is too small. Most importantly of all, please share this as much as you can and pray for him. All donations will be put towards his medical debt to pay for MRI and PET scans, blood tests, surgery, radiation treatment, as well as medication to replace the hormones Kylan can no longer produce on his own.
