On New Year’s Day, Vron tragically passed away, her body found outside in the cold. After a lifelong battle with bipolar disorder and repeated failures by the mental health system, Vron died lost, alone, frightened, and unable to help herself. Her story is a heartbreaking reminder of the urgent need for support for those with mental health challenges.
This devastating loss comes just six months after the death of Vron’s beloved husband, Rog, who passed in June 2024. Together, Rog and Vron were married for 40 years, sharing a life marked by love, struggle, and resilience. Now, Kyla, Micky, and Curtis are faced with the unimaginable pain of grieving both their parents in such a short space of time.
The Additional Pain of Public Grief
Kyla, Micky, and Curtis have already been through so much with the loss of their father, but now, they are forced to cope with the added heartbreak of seeing their mother’s tragic death reported in the news. Having to read about their mum’s passing in public news outlets, such as this article from The Star, only adds to the emotional toll. This is a deeply painful moment, and they need our support more than ever.
About Vron’s Family
Vron was a loving and devoted mother to Kyla, Micky, and Curtis. Her daughters, despite enduring their own mental health battles and caregiving responsibilities, are kind, selfless, and compassionate people who go out of their way to help others. They’ve spent their lives supporting those around them—caring for their parents, raising their younger brother Curtis, who has disabilities, and still finding ways to bring light and support to others.
Kyla and Micky became young carers at an early age, dedicating over 30 years to looking after their ill parents and their poorly brother. Despite the immense challenges they faced, they never stopped trying to help others whenever they could. Now, they need our help in their time of need.
What We’re Asking For
We are aiming to raise £3,985 to help cover the costs of a dignified funeral and memorial for Vron. This includes help towards:
• Funeral Director Fees
• Cremation Costs
• Coffin
• Service Fees
• Flowers and Decorations
• Transportation
• Order of Service Programs
• Reception/Wake
• Headstone (shared for both parents)
This will allow Kyla, Micky, and Curtis to focus on grieving their parents without the added stress of financial burden.
Why Your Support Matters
Kyla, Micky, and Curtis are not only mourning their mum but are still deeply grieving their father’s passing. Losing both parents within such a short period is a profound tragedy, and we have the opportunity to show them they are not alone.
Despite everything they’ve endured, these remarkable sisters have always been there for others, offering help and kindness whenever it was needed. Now, it’s our turn to help them. Your contribution will allow them to remember their mum not for the tragedy of her passing, but for the loving, strong woman she was.
