Hi, my name is Ky. I’m a black 20 year old first generation college student, and I’m in a really difficult spot and in desperate need of help. I currently have a remaining balance of $953 on my student account that needs to be paid by August 8th. If I don’t pay this by the deadline, all of my fall classes will be dropped and I won’t be able to re-register until it’s paid off.

 I've already raised $400 on my own, and am actively doing everything I can to close the gap. This summer, I’ve been working as a paid intern and planned to use my entire paycheck from that experience to cover this balance. However, I recently found out that my internship has been extended for a week or two more and I won’t be paid until after the deadline, which leaves me without the funds I need. I am also technically homeless. I live in a dorm during the academic year and visit family over breaks, but if I lose my place in school, I also lose my only stable housing. I've reached out and asked family for help, but they’ve already given as much as they're willing, nor able to provide a place to stay if I get dropped from school. I’ve worked so hard to get to this point, and it’s heartbreaking to think it could all slip away because of a short term gap in funding.

I’m doing everything in my power to stay in school and keep moving forward, but right now, I can’t do it alone.
