My junior brother Kwaku; had a massive stroke needing emergent brain surgery in May 2018. Since that time, he's been in a rehabilitation center in Columbus, OH where he resides. Thankfully, he has shown some improvement but he still has speech deficit and has right arm and right leg paralysis which did not improve much with physical therapy hence, he is unable to function independently. His family including his wife and three children are still in Ghana, West Africa. His insurance will only pay for 12 hours of care and hence, the need to bring his family from Ghana to take care of him for the remaining 12 hours. As his big sister, I am making the effort to bring them over so that he can be discharged to go home with his family. The fundraiser is for their preparation to come including multiple fees that need to be paid to US Immigration services, their airfares, and resettlement expenses which includes a customized van for his wheelchair and family travels. He is going to need ongoing health care and the family will be needing a lot of help to get settled to help their husband and dad to recover. Thanks.
