Hi everyone, This is honestly really embarrassing for me to post, and I hate having to ask for help like this—but I’m at a point where I don’t feel like I have another choice, and I need to do everything I can.
I recently found out that I need extensive dental treatment, including multiple root canals and restorative work, and the cost is far beyond what I can afford on my own right now. Even after trying to reduce costs and explore other options, I’m still facing thousands of dollars in treatment.
I’m currently dealing with daily dental pain and sensitivity that’s making normal things like eating stressful. The pain makes it hard for me to focus, relax, or continue my business. I’ve been avoiding certain foods because I’m scared of making things worse, and I’m trying to get treatment before I risk losing teeth that may still be saveable. The pain has become serious and is affecting my daily life. I want to be honest about something difficult too—part of why things got to this point is because I struggle with anxiety disorder, and that anxiety made it really hard for me to seek dental care earlier. I kept putting things off out of fear, and now I’m dealing with the consequences of that. That’s hard to admit publicly, but I want to be transparent.
As many of you know, I run KuudereKitten Avatars as an independent contractor. Because I’m self-employed, I don’t receive employer health or dental insurance. Like many freelancers in America, I’m responsible for paying for everything out of pocket—and major dental work here is incredibly expensive. I’ve already been doing everything I can to lower the cost: getting second opinions, looking into insurance options, trying to prioritize only the most urgent treatment first, researching financing options, cutting personal expenses, and running sales through my page/business.
Even after all of that, I’m still overwhelmed. I want to be transparent that I don’t expect this fundraiser to cover everything—I’m doing everything I personally can on my end. I just need help bridging the gap so I can start treatment, relieve the pain, and avoid losing teeth that could still be saved.
