Almost two years ago, our sweet dog Kushie was diagnosed with two hernias in his lower body. At the time, the vet told us that while surgery would eventually be necessary, it wasn't an emergency yet. We brought him home, started him on Miralax, and have been carefully monitoring him ever since, making sure he’s able to go to the bathroom and stay comfortable. We’ve done everything we can to keep him healthy and happy, knowing that surgery would be in his future.

Recently, Kushie’s brother was diagnosed with the same condition, (apparently its common is older intact male dogs) but his situation became critical when one of the hernias blocked his bladder. It was a scary and emotional time for us, but thanks to the kindness of friends, family, and generous strangers, we were able to raise the money for his brother’s emergency surgery. He’s now on the road to recovery, and we are so grateful for the support we received. Seeing how quickly things can become serious, we don’t want to wait until Kushie is in an emergency situation. We want to get him the surgery he needs as soon as possible, before his condition becomes life-threatening. The funds we raise will go directly toward Kushie’s surgery and his recovery care. Any help and support for our fur baby boy would be greatly appreciated! We know we just got tons of help for his brother, but we truly don’t want to lose Kushie either. After seeing what can happen, we just want to help him get this surgery and put this condition behind him and us.
