Hey, my name's Kurtis and I have an ecological design company that helps people manage their land so it can provide resources (food, soil, habitat, etc.) for them and the environment around them. Although I know how the water cycle works, I want to deepen my understanding and learn from a professional how to best design & install ecological water features that will benefit all human & non-human life.
Therefore, I'm fundraising for education on becoming a Water Restoration Practioner.
What does this mean exactly?
I want to learn how to design & install natural water retention systems like Ponds & Dams. These water systems rehydrate the land by supporting watersheds, increasing groundwater, recharging springs, creating biodiversity and supporting salmon reproduction. They also supply water for drinking and irrigation, defend against fire and can be used as a beautiful way to take a dip.
By donating to me for tuition, I can give back to the community and the planet by creating water-secure ecosystems, reversing drought, providing clean drinking water, supporting the local ecology and raising the carrying capacity of the land (to name a few things).
Water is the foundation of productive ecosystems, whether wild or tended for human use. Rehydrating the land by slowing & sinking water into the ground creates resilient landscapes that can withstand today's climatic extremes and provide for our needs now and in the future.
The funds raised to support my cause will pay for the course tuition.
Here's a link to the video on the homepage which describes the course I want to take:
Thank you for reading!!!
