It’s never easy to ask for help. So, on their behalf, we request your support for a very special young family. Kurtis and Whitney Galaba are facing a huge medical crisis. Kurtis, in his 30s, faces open heart surgery at the end of this month to solve a problem that has evolved from one of concern in his childhood to a now-life-threatening condition.
The couple has saved money to help them through daily bills, and friends and family are promising support for monthly living and housing expenses as well as providing meal drop-offs and whatever else they might need during the 6 months Kurtis will be in recovery and unable to work. However, they recently learned that their insurance will only cover 50% of the testing, surgical, and hospital costs. The family’s share could be more than $100, 000. This far exceeds their savings and will create huge stress for them when they need to focus on healing and taking care of each other.
Every little bit helps. Think of this as something you might work into your budget. Instead of buying that coffee or smoothie, add a $5 donation that day to the fund. Or make a one-time donation to help Kurtis, Whitney, and little Archer. If your birthday is coming up, and you do not need more “stuff,” ask your friends and family to donate to the fund. Consider making a Father’s Day or Mother’s Day donation. Get yourself some “feel good” by helping others in need!
We thank you for your help.
