Help Caribbean Kurt & Roscoe recover from fire.
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dani Rascon. Vanessa Sayers and I are fundraising for Caribbean Kurt Nelson and his dog Roscoe after they survived a fire at their home on Saturday, March 12, 2022 in Anza, California. Kurt suffered 2nd degree burns to his face and hands while extinguishing a fire that ignited while cooking his dinner that evening. Roscoe was unharmed. With Vanessa's help, Kurt found emergency housing, while Roscoe is being cared for at Aguanga Dog Boarding. Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary and Aguanga Dog Boarding have very generously donated 3 weeks of dog boarding for Roscoe while Kurt's burns heal and he finds a new home for himself and Roscoe in the Anza area. Thank you Hope Ranch and Aguanga Dog Boarding!
I started this fundraiser to help Kurt and Roscoe:
- pay for a new home (rental or rv to purchase);
- gas to and from the burn center is $60 round trip;
- clothing, shoes/boots, socks & underwear, toiletries;
- food (human and dog);
- microchip & neuter for Roscoe;
- steady work & side jobs (skills described below)
Gift cards for gas, fast food, Walmart etc are much appreciated and can be dropped off at Mr. Happy's Mercantile in Anza 7 days a week, 10am-6pm. Physical donations such as clothing, work boots/shoes, toiletries etc can be made at Mr. Happy's as well. Thank you so much, Mr. Happy's Mercantile!
Kurt's sizes: Shirt XL, waist 34, shoe 11.
Kurt has been anxious to get back to work as soon as his hands heal well enough to use them again. In addition to the funds and resources requested here, Kurt is looking for steady work. He is skilled in construction and property maintenance including framing, tiling, weed abatement and general property clean-up, among other things. Kurt is reported to be a hard worker, reliable, and shows up on time. He is looking forward to rebuilding his life back here in Anza with his bulldog Roscoe after follow up treatments at the Arrowhead Regional burn center in Colton. His burns are healing nicely and he should be able to return to work in the next couple of weeks. Please contact Vanessa if you have work for Kurt.
If you have ever met Kurt, you know he is a kind and gentle soul who loves his dog, a hard worker, reliable, soft spoken, with a Carribean accent. Thank you so much for helping Kurt and Roscoe recover and rebuild their life after their home burned. No donation is too small. Blessings.
