Help Kurt Further his Recovery

Hi my name is Brianna I have created this GoFundMe for my Moms Husband Kurt. As many of you already know Kurt suffered a TBI 9 years ago. It has been an extremely long road to recovery for him. When Covid hit last year my mom took the opportunity to work with Kurt full time to get him to his full potential. Since he has been in her care he has put in an amazing amount of work and is proud to say that he is now able to use a walker to get around, help in dressing himself and assist in some basic household chores. Kurt attends multiple therapy's weekly to aid in his recovery but his progress has begun to get more complex. One of the largest issues being balance. My mom began to research and came across Amen Clinic. Amen clinic is a ground breaking brain research facility where he would have the opportunity to work with SPECT imaging and highly trained doctors. At Amen they would scan his brain and help diagnose which parts of the brain need work and then help him get a treatment plan together to meet those new goals. Outcome studies for their patients show that after the 6 month program their patients reported over 80% improvement. After 9 years and all the work Kurt has put in this seems like the perfect opportunity for him to gain the skills necessary to become the self sufficient again. This program is 6 months long with multiple brain scans and meetings with their doctors however it is not covered by insurance at all. Kurt and my mom are on a very fixed income so I am reaching out to everyone that has followed Kurts long journey asking for help to make this possible for him. We have spoken to the Doctors there and Kurt truly is the perfect candidate for this program and with the financial means it is possible.
