Help Mr. Kumo Chowgi Heal and Stay with Widowed Momma
Donation protected

This is Mr. Kumo Chowgi. He is a chow-chow/ corgi mix. He is a Very Good Boi and a Handsome Little Man. He is fast and funny and most clever.
He is not always clever, unfortunately. He made the mistake of eating a pack of mouse poison baits.
We realized what had happened soon after, and got him to the doctor. The quick treatment saved his life, the vet said; by the time symptoms are apparent, it's terminal!
The poison works by calcification of the organs. Kidney failure is the first thing of a slow bodily shutdown. Treatment is heavy IV fluids and meds to help bind and flush the excess calcium.
Kumo is a young man at 3 or 4, and is expected to survive with treatment, but will need several days of 24 hour care. He's been in for 2 days so far, and each day runs around $1000, according to the vet's estimate.
Kumo's misfortune is bad enough, but unfortunately the story gets worse.
Kumo was abandoned by his owners a couple years ago. My Momma started feeding the floofy little stray (she feeds Everything and Everyone; "if you love 'em, feed 'em!!" is one of her quotes). She has gotten much in love with him and he brings her much joy. He loves her back.
My Momma just turned 90 a few days ago. My Dad, her husband, passed two weeks ago, just THREE DAYS after their 66th anniversary.
She's already had her whole world changed with the loss of her husband. Losing this little dog on top of everything else would just be too much.
We would deeply appreciate ANY help given. We want to give him the best treatment possible, since he is young and the poisoning was caught early. He's got a strong chance of making it and living a good long life!
And he's such a Good Boi and my Momma loves him.
Thank you deeply in advance, and may your kindness receive blessings in return!
