Help Kumi Oladapo Kick Cancer

Donation protected
For those that know Kumi, you know what a joyous person she is. Kumi is bursting with happiness and brings joy to every space she enters. Brain surgery to remove a tumor slowed her down for a few weeks, but she had an amazing recovery and returned to school to finish the school year. She was even able to perform in the school musical! Kumi's speedy recovery is a testament to her strength.

Kumi was so brave through surgery and recovery and never lost that joy that shines so brightly within her. Now Kumi has received a very serious diagnosis of neuroblastoma, and she needs our help.

A few months ago Kumi started getting headaches. The headaches became so severe that they prevented her from participating in everyday activities. One night Kumi's headache was so intense that her mom, Isabelle, took her to the emergency room. Doctors there tried to send Kumi home with nothing more than Tylenol, but Isabelle insisted on a CAT scan. Thank goodness she did! Doctors discovered that Kumi had a large brain tumor and needed surgery right away. Unfortunately, Kumi also had a bad case of the flu, so her surgery was postponed several times, and her hospital stay was much longer than expected. Kumi's friends and family offered tremendous support through visits, gifts, meals, calls, and cards. The entire Oladapo family is so grateful for this support, which helped them through such a difficult time.

Kumi now faces even more challenges. She will need both radiation and chemotherapy. Kumi must undergo 6 weeks of radiation as soon as possible. After a short break, she will need to undergo months of chemotherapy. The chemotherapy will take 2-3 days each month and will be repeated for 6 months. Kumi will need to be admitted to the hospital for each round of chemotherapy. This intense treatment will be hard for Kumi physically and emotionally, and it will be difficult financially for the Oladapo family. Although portions of Kumi's treatment will be covered by insurance, there are large portions that will not be. Anything you can donate to help defer some of Kumi's medical expenses would be greatly appreciated.
