I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. My beautiful girl Kuma, a sweet and funny Shiba Inu, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. We’re doing everything we can to fight it — but the cost of her treatment is more than I can manage on my own.
Kuma has been by my side through thick and thin. She’s my shadow, my comfort, my calm in the storm. Whenever my anxiety gets the best of me and I’m fidgeting my feet, Kuma is always right there — sitting at my feet, quietly demanding extra pets like it’s her full-time job. She knows exactly how to ground me in the moment, just by being herself.
She has this little quirk — her bottom teeth stick out just past her lips — and I swear, no one can see her without smiling. She’s the kind of dog who says hello to every stranger like they’re already her friend. And every time she’s at the vet or the groomer, I hear the same thing: "She’s the best Shiba Inu we’ve ever met."
Kuma is more than just a pet. She’s family. She’s joy. She’s love.
Her treatment offers us hope for more time — more walks, more tail wags, more goofy smiles. But it comes at a cost: between diagnostics, medications, and ongoing care, we’re facing expenses of $15,000.
If you can give anything at all, it will go directly toward Kuma’s care. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. And even if you can’t donate, sharing her story or keeping us in your thoughts means more than you know.
Kuma is still full of life, love, and that same mischievous charm. I just want to give her the chance to keep being the incredible dog she is — for as long as she can.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
With gratitude,
Ashley and family.
