Help Kuda Fight Through Her Medical Emergency

Hello everyone,
As many of you know, Josh and I recently had to take our sweet bubba bear to the Emergency Vet Hospital.

Kuda has received routine check ups (angrily, in her regard) but on Thursday night she presented with stroke like behavior.

We rushed her to Roadrunner Vet (4 minutes from our apartment thankfully) and she has been in the ER for 3 days.

It was difficult (and still is) to fully diagnose her. Their main conclusion is possible pancreatitis with IBD. She has been fully treated to correct her fluid intake, and electrolytes. However, at the hospital she was unable to eat solids or poop. My mom and I believed this to be because she’s an incredibly anxious little lady who picks when and where she will eat.

We brought her home yesterday not knowing if she would make the night. It was a crazy 24 hours but she has been eating, drinking, and yelling at me (this is good, she is very talkative and loves to yap when we are late to feed her).

We are by no means out of the woods, but she is fighting so hard. She has been consistently purring since her return home, and very snuggly. She is attached to my hip.

I do not know what the next few days will bring, we have prepared for a possible home euthanasia if necessary. She deserves to be at home and at peace when she goes, if need be.

The vet bill has not been easy to look at, so much so, Josh and I had to take an impromptu visit to our favorite spot, Sadie’s, for a few margaritas whilst we anxiously awaited any news on Saturday. We told our favorite bartender the news (and price) to which he loudly exclaimed “OHHH.” If you know Mark, you know.

I am so privileged and lucky to be in a position with a good job and the ability to say “yes” to her continued ER treatment. I completely know that many would have had to put their sweetheart down.

However, she is my sweet childhood baby and I will fight for her until she is ready to be done. It seems like she may not be ready… just yet.

If you are in any position to donate, please consider helping us chip at her bill.

I am so full of gratitude. I would not have made it through this weekend without my boyfriend Josh, mom & dad, family, friends, and community. They have held me up.

Thank you.
