Help Krogan fight his seizures
Donation protected
Hello, we hate to be writing this, but we are in a situation with our Krogan (Middie). He is a 2.5-year-old kitty we adopted from AnimalKind rescue 2 years ago, and he has always been special. He has hydrocephalus, which means his head is shaped a little funny, and he has more fluid in his skull than brain. Despite this, he has thrived for the past 2 years, only having had one seizure. He has always had to wear diapers, and he is a wobbly boy with a very special personality.
Yesterday, after we woke up, as he was getting his meds, he began to have focal seizures. They persisted for more than 30 minutes, so we made the call to drive to the emergency vet where his neurologist is. They were uncomfortable with the complexity of his case and sent us home with him still seizing and an $800 bill. So today, we're at Guardian Vet Hospital almost 3 hours from home instead of the other place, hoping to stop his seizures and make a plan. He has been hospitalized for 2-3 days to try to stop his seizures. our current estimated cost for the hospitalization is $6,672.42. We would never hesitate to spend everything we have on our pets, but we just recently had a major dental procedure performed on our old cat and are in a tight spot.
We are looking for any help getting us through this patch because Krogan deserves more life and has so much fire and love in him, but most importantly, we want to give him the best care, whatever that means for him, and not have finances be the thing that decides life or death.
Thanks for anything—even if it just covers gas to drive down here.
