Help Kristy survive life’s obstacles

Hi, my name is Kristy, and I’m reaching out with deep humility and hope.
For the past couple years, I’ve dedicated my life to working with refugees—families fleeing violence, persecution, and war, seeking the same safety and opportunity my own parents sought when they escaped Vietnam as refugees decades ago. This work has been more than a job; it’s been a way to give back and help others navigate the same difficult path my family once did.
I’ve worked with a nonprofit that serves newly arrived refugee communities, helping them rebuild their lives from scratch. I’ve poured my heart into this work—providing support, stability, and compassion to people at their most vulnerable moments.
But now, I find myself in a difficult place.
Two months ago, my car broke down due to a leaking radiator and a broken variable valve actuator. I had already invested over $5,000 in repairs just to keep it running & there’s still problems with it as of today (something about a blown head gasket)....
On top of this, I was recently laid off due to a lack of funding at the nonprofit. The organization simply couldn’t sustain our team anymore because of shifting priorities and budget cuts from the current administration. I suddenly found myself without an income, a functioning car, or the ability to continue the work I love.
I’m asking for your help to raise $2,000 to repair my car so I can get back on the road—and back on my feet. Your support will help me:
❤️Repair my broken vehicle
❤️Continue my job search and apply to similar humanitarian roles
❤️Rebuild stability while I navigate this difficult transition
Any amount—no matter how small—makes a big difference. If you can’t give right now, sharing this story with your family/friends is also deeply appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your support helps not just me—but the communities I will continue to serve once I’m back on my feet.
With gratitude,
Kristy
