Hello, my name is Kristy Sullivan and I am reaching out for help, something I never thought I would have to do. I have always been independent, but since 2018, my life has changed dramatically after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure. At first, surgery wasn’t urgent, but over the last two years, my condition has worsened. My heart’s ejection fraction rate has dropped to 8%, which has left doctors amazed that I am still able to move around at all. I am now on oxygen full time and struggle to breathe, feeling like I could collapse at any moment.
The biggest challenge I am facing right now is getting the Life vest my cardiologist says I need to stay alive. Medicaid has refused to cover the cost, and I am too weak to undergo surgery at the moment. The life vest and my part of the surgery are expenses I must pay out of pocket. I am unable to work because of my heart condition, and disability only covers so much. I am doing everything I can to contribute, but these expenses are overwhelming.
Asking for help is not easy for me, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to stay alive for my only son, even if it’s just a little bit longer. Any support, prayers, or donations would mean so much to me and my family. If you are unable to donate, please keep me in your prayers—that alone would be a blessing. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any help you can offer.
