Help Kristy Beat Cancer
There are times in life when it seems like your world is falling apart. It is sometimes most prevalent during the immediate reception of bad news. In my case, it was when the Doctor came into the room and informed us that the love of my life and wife of 14 years has Cervical Cancer. At that moment, my life shattered. The room began to spin, and then it stopped. Everything was still and silent. I felt alone and helpless. There wasn't anything that I could personally do to stop this terrible disease. I couldn't protect my wife as I've done for over half of her life. I could only hold her and watch as tears poured down her face and imagine what she must have been feeling.
After the initial shock wore off and our crying decreased, we began to explore treatment options. Of course, we were met with the traditional methods of Chemo, Radiation, and surgery, but we have also been exploring more natural methods and have opted for a mix of the two. As you know Cancer treatment of any kind can be really expensive, and as a single income family with four homeschooled children we do not have the financial resources of the typical family, a path we purposely chose and do not regret, but now we are met with a medical crisis that has the potential of being a life or death situation, and we need some assistance.
Not knowing what's ahead our goal is general. We may need less, but must most likely we will need more. All funds received will be used toward her recovery, and if anything is left over it will be donated to fund Cancer Research. We've seen enough Go Fund Me's to know that many don't reach their goal, and that's OK, we only want to make the need known in case God leads you to support.
Anyone who knows my wife knows that she is a survivor. She has been met with adversity many times in her life and she has always gracefully overcome it. I jokingly call her a "cockroach" because it seems there isn't anything that can stop her! I believe that to be true even when facing Cancer. Ultimately, we are trusting in the sovereignty of God and believe that His will, no matter the outcome, is for our good and His glory. We will praise Him even in our suffering and rest on the great hope we have in Jesus.
