My name is Kristine, and I am an ER nurse and previously active volunteer EMT for the Sterling Rescue Squad. Over the past year, I have been struggling with an unknown illness causing—scalp lesions, extreme fatigue, chest pressure, generalized pain, exercise and cold intolerance, intermittent tachycardia, myeloid hyperplasia, and frequent infections. These health issues have made it impossible for me to work since June.

The financial strain has become overwhelming. I am now two months behind on rent and facing eviction, which would make it even harder to find housing in the future. Additionally, I am struggling to take care of basic expenses like food, and the copays for the specialists I have been seeing as they attempt to diagnose the condition. I am being seen by Cardiology, Hematology/Oncology, Rheumatology, and Dermatology and am likely going to be refferred to the NIH's Undiagnosed Disease Center.
