Kristine’s blessings are countless: a loving family; supportive friends; a fun-loving personality; a resilient and strong character; and a 2-year-old daughter that inspires her every day to be the best mom, daughter, sister, wife, and friend that she can be. Loving all that comes with being a mom, Kristine and Mirza hoped to add to their family this year, but a shocking diagnosis of breast cancer in early May has derailed any such plans. While there is no doubt Kristine will get through this fight stronger than she was before, the road ahead presents a great challenge.

The emotional trial coupled with the potentially distressing chemotherapy treatments will add up to an enormous test. Financial factors will only serve to increase the burden, and this campaign is created in hope of helping provide at least some relief. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be of huge help to Kristine and her family. 

Some examples of what the funds raised will be used for: 

- Medical treatment costs (chemo, radiation, other medications, as needed) and surgeries that may be only partly covered by insurance, or require large-sum payments before insurance cost limits are reached 

- As Kristine is out of work indefinitely, bills and expenses such as daycare that will continue to add up since she will not be able to keep her daughter at home to care for her while recovering from chemotherapy treatments or surgeries.

- Interventions not covered by insurance that will aid in coping with the side effects of chemotherapy, such as hair loss, and which can also have an effect in shaping her daughter’s reactions throughout the treatment period

- Preserving reproductive options after chemotherapy and surgery are complete, procedures that are largely not covered by insurance.

We appreciate every one of you for reading this and considering Kristine’s road ahead.  This is just one way of showing Kristine that this is not just her fight.
