Hi, my name is Brenda and I’m fundraising for Kristine Phillips. Kristine dreamed of moving to West Virginia near her relatives for years, but waited for her two sons to finish school in Ohio first. Just over a year ago she finally moved to WV, got a job in food services at the local hospital, and financed a new singlewide home within 1 mile of her family. At 55 years old she could now live in the Mountains of WV and enjoy a life of peace and tranquility!

Unfortunately, last Friday her life took a turn for the worst! On her lunch hour she suffered a severe stroke and had to be life-flighted to Ruby Memorial in Morgantown, WV. Following her CT Scan she learned that she had a major blood clot on the right side of her brain, and that the left side of her body was paralyzed. She spent fours days in ICU having CT Scans nightly to make sure her brain was not swelling, moved to step-down room for three days, and is now being transferred to Encompass Rehab Facility for intensive rehab over the next ten days.

Ten days from now we are in need of a ramp, a landing, lift chair, and grab handles in various places. After researching locally for services, the ramp has a one to three year waitlist. The other smaller items are readily available.

Her Social Worker at Ruby informed me that it could take up to six months for Social Security Disability to be approved. While Kristine waits for benefits to kick in she needs help with monthly expenses and having a ramp installed.

Any and all donations will go towards her new needs due to her sudden physical changes and any extra monthly expenses she may incure!
