Help Kris Boersma (Booker) with her cancer battle

This is our sister Kristine, who could use some help after a hard couple of months.

 

Last summer she was feeling under the weather and had been feeling a little off for some time. She went to the doctor with low energy and was told that she had very very low iron and blood counts. She was immediately given multiple blood and iron transfusions to try and get her back on track before finding out what the root of the problem was.

 

She spent the next few weeks getting blood work, a colonoscopy, a biopsy, CAT scans, PET scans, among many other tests. She was very quickly diagnosed, at 31 years old, with stage 4 colon cancer, with spotting on her liver and most recently growths on her whole reproductive system

 

She then started her chemo journey which has been going pretty well considering her diagnoses. Along with all the side effects she keeps a big smile on her face and always has the time for her partner Ezra, her family, her friends and her 4 fur babies.

 

Pre covid Kristine was a chef at VIU and with the pandemic, has not had work for some time. They decided in 2020 it was now or never for Ezra to change their career and head back to school!

 

With Kristine's diagnoses, her inability to work, and Ezra in school, there isn't a lot of income coming in. Our sister is the kindest, most empathetic, biggest hearted person we know. With more surgeries, chemo, biopsies, the uncertainty of cancer and with no work in the near future for her, any help financially would alleviate a bit of stress and allow more space for healing.
