Help Kristine Through Leukemia

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

On October 19, 2024, our sister Kristine delivered a healthy baby girl named Scarlett weighing 7lbs 14oz. Kristine was over the moon and filled with joy with her first baby girl. Unfortunately, less than a week later Kristine became ill and received the tragic news that she was diagnosed with AML Leukemia at age 29 (Cancer of the blood). As you can imagine this devastated Kristine and our entire family. We are all heartbroken and concerned with Kristine’s health and wellbeing.

Kristine has seen many doctors and specialists for the last few weeks constantly almost every day. She had to undergo a bone marrow biopsy, heart testing, countless blood tests and many more other cancer related testing. Kristine received news of her cancer treatment that consisted of having a cancer port placed on her chest as well as her chemo treatment plan. Given the severity, Kristine received news last week that she has to undergo a one month or longer inpatient chemo treatment where she will not be able to see her baby girl Scarlett. According to the doctors, this is phase 1 of her chemotherapy treatment and will have to undergo a stem cell transplant in the future. Kristine was admitted at Yale Cancer Center on November 22, 2024, to begin her treatment plan. We are not sure of how long Kristine will be admitted or how her treatment will respond to her Leukemia.

We are reaching out today with a heavy heart over this devastating news and seeking your prayers and support for Kristine during this difficult time. We are asking you all for help for Kristine- our loving sister and Scarlett’s mommy.

Any donations will go towards helping Kristine’s medical bills, travels over an hour back and forth to the Yale Hospital and helping with Scarlett’s diapers, formula and baby-sitting expenses.

We know that every little bit counts, and no donation is too small. Your generosity will help Kristine and baby Scarlett during this difficult time. If you’re unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this campaign with others who may be able to help.

Thank you so much for your kindness, love, and support. It means the world to Kristine and baby Scarlett and everyone who loves them.

With gratitude,
Elizabeth Sousa
