Hello, I’m Kristina. Last weekend, my family joined my sister Brandie and brother-in-law Troy at his family’s cabin in the mountains. It started as a beautiful and fun weekend with family and ended in tragedy and heartbreak. After a day of fishing, Troy and Brandie took a nap. When it was time to wake everyone up for dinner, we discovered that my brother-in-law had passed from what doctors say was a perfect storm of heart and lung conditions. Following a heart-wrenching attempt to revive him, my sister-in-law was hospitalized for Broken Heart Syndrome. She will recover, but it will be a long, hard road both physically and mentally. Troy was a loving and supportive husband who was there for Brandie after the loss of her father soon after their marriage and the loss of one of her triplet sisters just last year. Please join me in pouring love and support on her as she recovers and deals with her third tragic loss. She is now faced with organizing her husband's services and paying for medical bills, not to mention all the logistics of becoming a widow.
